[Nov. 18] Initial Story: Samsung reportedly begins One UI 5.1 development

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung has started the development of the Galaxy S23 series’ firmware – One UI 5.1. The arrival of One UI 5.1 version is almost confirmed as the company accidentally mentioned some features require version 5.1 in its official newsroom post.

Post official debut with Galaxy S23, the One UI 5.1 update may be rolled out to older devices such as the Galaxy S21, S20 and Note 20 series. The roadmap promises Android 13 for all Galaxy devices before February 2023, however, the One UI 5.1 might be released for the remaining models, skipping the One UI 5.0.

At the Samsung Developer Conference, Samsung showcased the One UI 5.0 features and offerings. The company also teased new handy widgets for the homescreen, but all are not available in the One UI 5.0. Hence, we are guessing that the One UI 5.1 will be a more fruitful upgrade for Galaxies.
