Samsung Galaxy S20 in the US are getting December 2022 security update

Samsung is now rolling out December 2022 security update to Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra in the US. Two weeks ago, the company debuted its latest security patch OTA for the Galaxy S20 series in Europe. Now, the carrier-locked models in the US getting the same treatment.

In the US, December 2022 firmware update can be identified through build versions G988USQS3GVKA, G986USQS3GVKA and G981USQS3GVKA for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 Plus 5G and Galaxy S20 5G, respectively.

Since the December 2022 update is available for S20 consumers in the US, it doesn’t bring any notable change. However, the company revealed that the new patch addresses five critical CVEs, sixty high levels of CVEs, and two moderate for Samsung phones and tablets.

Earlier, Samsung rolled out the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software update for the Galaxy S20 series. So far, the company delivered the major update in various markets, and there won’t be any more Android upgrades in the future. Hopefully, the One UI 5.1 could arrive for your S20 series device.

Your device may have already prompted you about the new firmware update. If not, just head towards the System Settings, scroll down and hit Software update menu. Once done, access the internal menu with a single click and hit the Download and install button.
