Following the investigation, the LastPass community announced that some source code and technical information had been stolen from the development environment and obtained credentials and keys, used to access and decrypt certain storage volumes within the cloud-based storage service.

However, LastPass says that everyone’s data is secure as long as they use a sufficiently strong master password. The hidden master password is actually a combination of two or more separately stored, 256 bits, or 32 characters that must be especially combined in order to use cryptographically generated random strings.

It is important to note that if your master password does not use on any other website, reuse it for any other thing password then it will significantly reduce the number of attempts required to guess it correctly.

For an additional security measure, the company is encouraging users to reset the master password to further enhance the security of their smartphone passwords. Therefore the password manager is not completely safe from hacking attempts, so if you are using LastPass on your Samsung Galaxy devices then follow all necessary steps to protect your data.
