Yes! You heard right that WhatsApp does not support all Samsung devices. WhatsApp periodically deprecates some Android and iOS smartphones from using its messaging service, due to outdated software. We can say that the WhatsApp life cycle of those devices is over.

A recent report suggests that WhatsApp will no longer support around 50 devices, out of which 7 are from Samsung. From December 31 this year, WhatsApp will stop working on these devices.

Even in October 2022, WhatsApp stopped supporting around 40 devices due to their older software version. However, users of smartphones that launched a few years ago need not worry as WhatsApp is only stopping support for older smartphones. You can check the Samsung smartphones that will no more support WhatsApp below.

WhatsApp Unsupported Samsung Devices

  • Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Core
  • Samsung Galaxy S2
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 mini
  • Samsung Galaxy Trend II
  • Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite
  • Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2

The reason behind WhatsApp’s backlash on these smartphones is that the messaging service app has updated its requirement policy and will no longer work on devices running Android 5.0. However, Samsung stopped the update cycle for these devices several years ago.

Users of the above-mentioned Samsung devices should upgrade their smartphones before the validity of WhatsApp expires. This is a good time to buy a new device. Hope you have a new year with happiness, not without WhatsApp.
