Samsung pushed December 2022 security patch, with a new firmware update, to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US (Comcast and Xfinity Mobile). The latest security patch comes just a few days before the beginning of the new year, while we are guessing that the January 2023 patch will arrive early.

The latest lineup of Galaxy foldables is eligible for regular monthly security updates as part of Samsung’s commitment. In the US, Samsung consumers having Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 can identify the December 2022 security update via PDA build numbers: F721USQU1BVL9 and F936USQU1BVL7.

In the first week, the South Korean tech giant released the December 2022 security patch details. As per the info, the new patch comes with fixes for five critical CVEs, sixty high levels of CVEs, and two moderate for Samsung Galaxy devices, including Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4.

Earlier, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 received the major Android 13-based One UI 5.0 firmware upgrade. The latest iteration of One UI introduces new user interface tweaks and features so you can have great experiences while using a Galaxy device.

Samsung is committed to offering up to four OS/One UI upgrades to Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4. Starting the Android 13, both foldables will be getting major OS updates including Android 14, Android 15 and Android 16 along with One UI on board.

You can check for the firmware updates by yourself! Navigate to your Galaxy’s system Settings, head toward the Software updates tab and hit the Download and install button. Follow on-screen instructions and tap the Install now button to finish the process.
