Galaxy S21 January 2023 update

Notably, the company just released the January 2023 security patch for the Galaxy Note 10 series devices in Switzerland. We expect, the Galaxy S22 and latest foldable devices would soon get access to the most up-to-date Android security patch.

Samsung is likely to detail the January 2023 security patch within this week. However, we are sure that the latest update brings fixes for dozens of bugs and CVEs to ensure privacy and data. Meanwhile, it would be cherry on cake if it brings improvements to the Android 13 installation for better experiences.

No sign on One UI 5.1

Samsung already started testing One UI 5.1 update on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy S22 series device in South Korea and India, respectively. So far, we have not heard anything about One UI 5.1 development for the Galaxy S21 series phones.

In early November, the South Korean tech giant released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series. It brought a number of new features and user interface improvements, however, we are eyeing the One UI 5.1 for even better user experiences.

According to the info, Samsung pushed an urgent new software update for the Smart Switch Agent. The nature of this update seems regular, but it may have included noteworthy stuff for your Galaxy.

Smart Switch Agent update notes read that urgent new software updates are available for your device. Update your software to the latest version to prevent errors from occurring.

Smart Switch Agent works as a supporting plugin for data transfers. Samsung’s Smart Switch is a quite useful service that lets Galaxy users transfer their data and apps seamlessly.

The Smart Switch Agent may have been rendered vulnerable to a serious threat or flaw. Samsung doesn’t usually push such updates mentioning “urgent new software update” to the consumers.

The update weighs nearly 3 megabytes, with specific changes remaining to be known. The notice has two options for users; either they can “Update” with a single click or “Cancel” it.
