Samsung Galaxy A42 users in the US are getting Android 13/One UI 5.0 update

Samsung started distributing the major Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for Galaxy A42 smartphones last month. The update was initially rolled out in South Korea and now the company is expanding it in the United States.

It’s worth mentioning that only the carrier-locked models of Verizon’s network are eligible for the latest software upgrade in the US. However, the company will not let other users wait for too long for the update.

Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy A42 users of Verizon’s network in the US can identify the Android 13 One UI 5.0 update through the build version A426USQU4DVL2.

For your information, this update unlocks plenty of new features and customization abilities for the Galaxy A42 owners. At the same time, it brings significant changes to the system user interface with new and bolder app icons, revamped quick settings panel and notification, and much more.

As far as the features are concerned, there are 16 Color Palette options, Extract text from images, Lockdown mode, Notification permissions, Stack Widgets, new multitasking swipe gestures, Per-app language, the ability to turn off RAM Plus, a Smart Suggestion Widget, and much more.

In the meantime, One UI apps like Camera is getting a new Picture watermark feature, a Help guide in Pro mode, improved SIngle Take, and other functions. The Gallery app is getting improved picture/video editing tools and a new interface. Whereas, the Settings app is getting three new compartments for Connected devices, Modes and Routines, and Security and Privacy.
