[U: Google Fi/Unlocked] Samsung Galaxy S21 getting Android 13 in US

Samsung has now finally released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra smartphone users in the US. The update was already released by prominent carriers and for unlocked models, however, consumers on Google Fi [XAS/XAA] are now getting it via OTA.

You can now enjoy the latest changes and premium features on your S21 by installing the latest update. To do so, simply head over to System Settings and then enter the Software update section followed by Download and install.

[December 1] Update – Unlocked

Carrier-unlocked models of Samsung Galaxy S21 series are now receiving the Stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in the US. Several users on Reddit confirmed that the major firmware OTA is now available on their carrier-unlocked devices (SM-G99xU1).

[November 29] Update – T-Mobile

T-Mobile is rolling out an Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for locked Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones in the US. This major update comes with a bunch of new features and improvements to provide a next-level experience.

 

[November 15] Initial Story – US Cellular

Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra smartphone users have started receiving the stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in the US. While users of US Cellular are the first to grab the stable version in the country, the update is not so far from other customers.

The Korean company is releasing the Android 13 One UI 5.0 update for Galaxy S21 device users with the following firmware versions in the US:

  • Galaxy S21: G991USQU5DVK3
  • Galaxy S21+: G996USQU5DVK3
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra: G998USQU5DVK3

Android 13 One UI 5.0:

Android 13-based One UI 5.0 is a major upgrade over the previous Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software. It brings plenty of new features such as Per-app language that lets you select different languages for different apps, lockdown mode for better privacy, and new multitasking gestures to open Split-screen and Pop-up windows with ease.

There’s new Stack widgets feature so that you can easily create a stack on the home screen where, the Extract text from image feature allows you to copy text from images and banners and paste them to messages, notes, etc.

It now provides you with advanced Lock Screen customization options that let you personalize every element of the screen directly from the lock screen. Meanwhile, the new Connected devices, Modes and Routines, and Security and Privacy menus in the System Settings will let you manage all related settings in no time.

The Quick settings panel, Notification panel, app icons, home screen, and apps screen are also getting some minor tweaks. Whereas, the applications like Camera, Gallery, Good Lock, Bixby and others are receiving lots of new functions.
