LTE variants of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 will soon be able to use Google Maps, even when not paired to the smartphone. Announced at the CES 2023, Google Maps has started to roll out on the Pixel Watch running Wear OS 3.5, and on the way to LTE Galaxy Watch devices!

The latest Google Maps for Wear OS update makes it capable of showing turn-by-turn navigation. This feature will soon be landed on some other devices running Wear OS 3.5 such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series smartwatches.

Since the feature doesn’t require a connected smartphone, your smartwatch must have LTE network connectivity to experience seamless navigation on the go. Notably, the minimum operating system requirement for the phone-less Google Maps feature is Wear OS 3.
