Samsung expands January 2023 security update to Galaxy S22 Exynos models

Samsung has begun delivering the January 2023 Android security patch update for the Exynos version of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones. This update is rolling out in the United Kingdom at the moment and will soon expand to more countries.

As per the information, the latest update slightly enhances the performance of the Galaxy S22 phones by optimizing their stability. With this enhancement, the company ensures that you won’t face any irritating errors like app crashing, lagging, or freezing.

At the same time, Samsung’s support page also mentions fixes for more than five dozen issues and vulnerabilities that were affecting the phone’s security and its users’ privacy. These include 52 CVE items from Google’s Android OS and 20 SVE items from Samsung’s One UI software.

Besides these, there is nothing that the official changelog mentions. However, another big update – One UI 5.1 is coming soon for the Galaxy S22 phones. It’s worth mentioning that the company has already started internal testing of the new software on these devices.

In any case, you can identify the January 2023 security update for your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra phones through the build version S901BXXS2BWA2, S906BXXS2BWA2, and S908BXXS2BWA2, respectively.
