Samsung has begun rolling out a new software update for its Watch 5 series wearables that unlocks a couple of new features. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are collecting the One UI 5.1 Camera Controller zoom feature with this update.

Galaxy Watch 5 already lets users control their phone’s camera to capture images. Whereas, with the implementation of the new Camera Controller zoom, Galaxy smartphone users can even manage the camera zoom remotely by pinching in or out the watch’s screen or through the rotating bezel.

Do note that the company clearly mentions that the Camera Controller zoom feature is only supported on flagship models released after Samsung Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Z Flip running at least One UI 5.1 software, which means you will not be able to access it right now.

In addition to this, the latest update further brings a new “Connected device diagnostics” option so that you can check the proper performance of your Galaxy Watch’s battery status, touch screen function, and more on the connected phone.

In order to get access to the Connected device diagnostics feature, you need to update Samsung Members and Galaxy Wearable apps to the latest versions on your Galaxy smartphone.

Aside from these significant additions, the company is also improving the stability ad reliability of your watch so that you can have a seamless user experience. Moreover, you can identify this software on your Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch 5 Pro through the One UI built version ending with AWA3.

Meanwhile, to download it, navigate to Galaxy wearable app on a connected Android phone and navigate to Watch settings >> Watch software update. On the Home tab, go to Watch software update >> Download and install.
