The benchmark documents of the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra hinted that the upcoming Samsung flagships don’t use the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Qualcomm and Samsung signed a multi-year partnership and it looks like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is an exclusive product for the S23 series.

According to a recent report, Samsung Galaxy S23 series uses a customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which will be called the “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.” As revealed through Geekbench, this AP features a clock speed of up to 3.36GHz, whereas the regular version clocks at 3.2GHz.

This Galaxy S23-exclusive Snapdragon chipset could bring largely the same feature set as the chip being used in other Android phones such as Xiaomi 13, and OnePlus 11. In order to enhance performance, Samsung may have further optimized the software with this new chipset.

Ditching the Exynos, Samsung’s going to ship all Galaxy S23 models with Qualcomm-made chipset this year! It’s not big news for all, but, nothing can be bigger than this for our readers of European countries. Europe always got the Exynos version of S flagships, which is ending after all.

Compared to Samsung’s own-made chipset, Snapdragon AP always performed well on Galaxy smartphones. More specifically, the overclocked (Plus) versions of the Snapdragon chip manufactured by TSMC are always praised for better performance and efficiency.
