Samsung Galaxy M42 5G joins January 2023 update party

Samsung Galaxy M42 5G users started receiving a new update with January 2023 security patch. The new update improves system security and stability by installing the latest Android security patch.

Identified via version M426BXXU4CWA2, the update comes with an installation package size of 377.47 MB. The update is currently rolling out in India and it may take time to reach all eligible devices as it is an initial rollout.

Samsung’s January 2023 patch is protecting Galaxy devices from issues and exposures affecting their security and privacy. As per the official support page, these fixes include 52 high-level of CVEs from Google and 20 SVEs from One UI to provide a smoother experience.

In addition to security improvements, several stocks apps including Samsung Notes Adds-on, Galaxy wearable, Global Goals, Kids, Notes, Internet, Health, SmartThings, Members, Pay, Calculator, Smart Switch, and Voice recorder updated to the latest version after installing the update.

To install and download the latest January 2023 update on your Samsung Galaxy M42 5G smartphone, open the Settings app on your smartphone >> Scroll down and tap on the Software Update >>  Press Download and install option. Now, follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
