Galaxy S20 receives December patch in India amid One UI 5.1 confusion

One UI 5.1 is reportedly under-development for 2020’s Samsung Galaxy S flagship lineup. A recent update left confusion about whether the Galaxy S20 and Flip devices will get the One UI 5.1 or not with “after” mark. And now, Samsung released the December 2022 patch for the Galaxy S20 series in India.

Detailed back in early December, the Galaxy S20 Indian variants’ latest patch firmware comes with fixes for five critical CVEs, sixty high levels of CVEs, and two moderate. CVEs apart, the company had also listed a bunch of SVE items it included for the Galaxy products’ enhanced reliability.

Two weeks ago, the South Korean tech giant updated the Galaxy S20 series in Europe with the January 2023 security patch. Most likely, 2023’s second patch update for Samsung devices will go live in the next few days, while the One UI 5.1 is preparing along!

Samsung’s first post-Android 13 software update for the Galaxy S20 series comes with December 2022 security patch in India. This release aims to bring betterment to your phone’s overall stability of functions and system security as well as some under the hood aspects. Here is the changelog:

One UI 5.1 software is launching with the Galaxy S23 series on the first of February. I guess the One UI 5.1 rollout could begin shortly after the starting of shipments of the forthcoming flagships. Through this, the tentative One UI 5.1 release timeline is early March.
