[Samsung replied] I noticed heavy battery drain on my Galaxy S21 FE after installing Android 13

I have been using Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G for a long time. Recently, I installed the new Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update to explore new features in it and undoubtedly I caught many incredible changes. But at the same time, I also noticed that after installing Android 13, my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is getting a heavy battery drain.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 FE phone comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging. Since I have been using it, I have noticed that it takes longer to fully charge than other Galaxy phones, plus its wireless charging is very slow.

But my phone never consumed as much battery as it does after installing new software. During my initial usage, which included social media apps, continuous browsing, and watching videos on YouTube and Netflix shows, it used to give very good performance.

After full charge in the morning, when I used to operate my phone this much, some 15-20% of battery (depending on my usage) was left in it for the next morning. But now it needs to be charged once in the evening or at night as well.

Not only this but I have also noticed heating issues in some cases. Normally this phone does not heat up while using social media or watching YouTube. But after being on call for a little more than usual, it starts heating up. And if we talk about heating during charging, it is happening since the beginning.

I don’t know the reason behind this heavy battery drain in my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, but I have never seen such battery consumption before Android 13. Also, I want to share that I am not the only one who is facing such problems.

I have seen various reports on Samsung Members Community and Reddit that confirms battery consumption on S21 FE after installing new software. I just wish this issue to be fixed in the upcoming updates.

Update 1: December 19 …

Samsung Support US has replied to our Galaxy S21 FE heavy battery drain issue through Twitter. Although the company did not tell when it is going to fix this problem or why it’s happening, it looks like the S21 FE users will soon get a solution for this as it is now aware of the problem.
