Samsung Galaxy S21, Note 20 and S20 getting January 2023 patches in the US

Samsung has rolled out the January 2023 update to a bunch of Galaxy devices so far. Now, the company has started rolling out the latest January 2023 patches for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones in the US.

The new updates of these devices install the January 2023 Android security patches to improve device security and stability. It brings fixes around six dozen vulnerabilities and exposures found in Galaxy devices. These include 52 CVEs from Google’s Android OS and 20 SVEs from Samsung’s One UI software.

The update is rolling out carrier-locked and unlocked variants of Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones in the US, which you can identify via the One UI versions G99XU1UES5DWA2 (Unlocked) and G99XUSQS5DWA5 (locked).

Furthermore, January 2023 security patches for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra come with PDA versions N981USQS3GWA1 and N986USQS3GWA1 in the US. Currently, the update is spotted on the Comcast Mobile network and will soon be available for other carriers.

Carrier-locked variants of Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones are receiving the latest security patch with firmware versions G981USQS3GWA2, G986USQS3GWA2, and G988USQS3GWA2 respectively.
