LG’s first Gram Style OLED laptop uses Samsung display

It is reported that Samsung Display will supply OLED panels for LG Elec’s first Gram Style OLED laptop lineup this year. It’s going to happen for the first time when Samsung Display supplies OLED display panels to it’s biggest rival in the segment.

According to TheElec sources, Samsung Display is producing and will supply OLED panels for LG Electronics’ first OLED laptop Gram Style. On January 24, the OEM announced that it will introduce two types of 14-inch and 16-inch ‘Gram Style’ models.

Going further with the report, LG Elec’s OLED laptop lineup Gram Style is equipped with Samsung Display’s rigid OLED that deposits OLED on a glass substrate. The unit price of the A2 rigid OLED line can be lowered because depreciation has ended early.

Notably, LG Display doesn’t have a rigid OLED line since the company produces panels for Apple iPhone, and Apple Watch, and vehicle display uses flexible OLED. Also, Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Book 3 laptop lineup alongside the Galaxy S23 series on February 1st.
