Lee visits Samsung’s QD OLED display production line

On February 7, Samsung’s executive chairman Lee Jae-yong visited Samsung Display’s Asan Campus to tour the QD OLED panel production line and check the business strategy.

He personally inspected the display production line and discussed it with key executives. The topics of discussion were the current status of the display market for IT devices, the automotive display business, and the next-generation display technology development roadmap.

Lee held a meeting with employees developing core products and emphasized the importance of securing ‘future core technologies’ by saying, “Let’s constantly innovate and invest preemptively to develop capabilities that no one can surpass.”

Chairman Lee is expanding opportunities to listen to the vivid voices of employees by visiting major domestic and overseas business sites one after another. Since taking charge as Samsung’s chairman, Lee visited several Samsung production sites including:

  • Gwangju business site – October
  • Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Busan business site – November
  • Samsung C&T’s Barakah nuclear power plant construction site in Abu Dhabi – December
  • Vietnam smartphone/display production plant – December
  • Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Yuseong Training Center – February
  • Samsung Youth SW Academy (SSAFY) Daejeon Campus February
