Two weeks after its global debut, Samsung’s new Galaxy S23 series launches in China. The new smartphones come with a starting price tag of 5,199 yuan (about $761). These devices introduce upgraded AI-powered cameras, the world’s fastest Snapdragon processor, and a lot more.

Galaxy S23 Ultra
Samsung’s Ultra brings the most powerful hardware specs in the entire lineup such as a 6.7″ curved Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and 1750 nits peak brightness. In the camera department, it’s equipped with a new 200MP image sensor to offer lossless photography. Read more

It’s worth mentioning that the Chinese smartphone market’s shipments fell 13.2% YoY to 285.8 million units in 2022, IDC analysis reveals. This is the first time in a decade that the Chinese smartphone market shipment has fallen below 300 million units.
“The historically low shipments raise an alarm bell for smartphone vendors to rethink how to build a more sustainable business model and a more targeted marketing strategy,” said Will Wong of IDC Asia Pacific.
