Well, there’s a way to lift restrictions from apps to run in the background as part of fixing the crashing issue in One UI 5.1. Below, you can check the steps to set apps “Unrestricted” so they can use the battery to run in the background such as YouTube Music.

How to set unrestricted access for apps on Galaxy phones

  • On your Samsung Galaxy running One UI 5 or later, head to Settings.
  • Find and tap Apps.
  • Find the app you want to change battery optimization for.
  • In that page, hit Battery.
  • Change from Optimized to Unrestricted.

In case you find any app, which is not working, shutting down automatically, or crashing, you have to set Unrestricted access for the app so it can work in the background.

This change may reduce the battery life of your Samsung phone as the One UI found it eating battery with background usage. Meanwhile, there’s no option to stop the operational crashing and not working issues, so you’ve to set unrestricted access.

Samsung’s One UI 5.0 update brought the Android 13 operating system to Galaxy devices. However, the new One UI 5.1 version brings further refinements, optimizations, algorithm/code changes, and improvements to take your Galaxy device to the next level.
