Samsung One UI 5.1 Contacts Widget: What’s New
Samsung’s One UI 5.1 introduces a bundle of new features for Galaxy users to unleash more creativity, personalization, and convenience. Along with the major changes, Samsung has also made some minor changes with One UI 5.1 that are not mentioned in the changelog, such as the new Contacts widget.
Yes! One UI 5.1 also enhances the Samsung Contacts widget feature by adding a new and useful widget type. Once you have installed the latest update, you will be able to use this new Contacts widget.
Now you can add 4 types of Contacts widgets on your smartphone’s home screen, whereas in One UI 5.0, you can add only 3 types.
With One UI 5.1, the company added one more type of Contacts widget i.e. Direct Dial (4×1). In this widget, you can add four contact numbers to call directly. Previously, you can add only one direct dial contact. In addition, you can customize it once you add it to your Home screen.
The four widgets of Samsung Contacts app are Contact, Direct Dial (4×1), Direct Dial (1×1) and Direct Message.

How to add a new Contacts Widget?
Similar to other widgets, you can add this new Contacts Widget on your smartphone’s home screen. You just need to follow a few steps.
Unlock your smartphone >> Tap and hold the blank space on the home screen >> Click on the Widgets option >> Scroll down and click on the Contacts >> You can now see a big contact widget (Direct dial) >> Tap on it >> Press add option >> select four important Contact number >> Press Done.
You can edit the Contacts widget, you have to open the Settings option that appeared after tapping and holding the widget. Through this, you can edit contacts, background color, opacity, and Dark mode.
