According to the info, Samsung Elec decided not to introduce S-Pen storage with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable phone launching in the second half of this year. Reportedly, the research and development progressed, but, the problem of securing internal space had an impact.

Internally, the company has made the decision to provide in-built S Pen support in this year’s foldable, which has recently been pulled. From 2019 to 2022, the South Korean tech giant introduced four generations of Galaxy Z Fold smartphones, while the S Pen’s arrival won’t become reality this year as well.

With the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung first brought the S Pen input support, which was continued by the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last year. In both models, S Pen can be used on the main screen, but, you need to carry the gadget in a case as an additional accessory.

S Pen’s arrival on Galaxy foldable phone is possible but it will become thicker, which Samsung doesn’t want to make at the moment. It is also reported that when the Pen is built in, the cost burden, such as the increase in factory price, is expected to increase, which is another hurdle.

“The hinge structure of the new foldable product has changed and the internal space structure has also changed, making it difficult to mount the S Pen,” an industry official close to this issue said.
