The cover display plays a vital role in foldable smartphones, letting users get basic tasks done without unfolding the entire phone. The usability of Samsung’s flip-style foldable phones always remains limited due to the outer display’s size, but it won’t remain a concern as soon as August arrives.

Samsung’s original Galaxy Z Flip smartphone brought a tiny cover display that expands just 1.1 inches. As an initial product, the form factor was quite unique and just a limited number of consumers have had a problem with the tiny size of this outer display.

The company heard from consumers and upgraded the cover display size on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G smartphone. The device comes with a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display and got praised by consumers. Using the software, Samsung further extended the usability of this external screen.

Motorola’s Razr 2022 brings a larger display than the Galaxy Z Flip 3, hence, consumers expected another display size upgrade with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G. But, it didn’t happen! Samsung continued using the Flip 3-like 1.9-inch Super AMOLED outer screen in the Z Flip 4 5G too.

Seeing rivals, Samsung joined the megapixels race and brought the 200MP primary camera with the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone. And one more time, the company seems to beat Chinese vendors that doing anything to manipulate the foldable market.

Tipster IceUniverse yesterday revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 5G will come with a larger cover display. Not only larger, but this screen will surpass Oppo’s recently announced Find N2 Flip phone, which brings a massive 3.26-inch external display.

Today, the same source shared an identical image showing off the possible design of the cover display and foldable panel of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. As per the image, the outer display of Galaxy Z Flip 5 would be squarish, as part of giving the feel like its main screen.

It was yet to see which kind of dimensional changes the company will make in the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year. However, Ice again comes up with a self-created render of a possible cover display design of the Korean tech giant’s next Flip-style smartphone. And here I melted down!

I know, the image is not of a real product but hopefully, there will be a much larger outer display on the next Samsung flip. Look at the image, which is identical to the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 5! If it’s going to be real, the Galaxy Flip 5 will fulfill my biggest wish with foldables!
