Engineers of Samsung R&D Institute Noida closely worked with teams in Korea and made contributions to breakthrough innovations in the new Galaxy S23 series. All the features are included in One UI 5.1 software and rolled out to older Galaxy models through firmware updates.

One UI 5.1 features developed by Samsung India

In India, Good Lock’s Galaxy to Share plugin has been developed to allow users to share all customizations and own personalization settings across Galaxy devices. Moreover, the Samsung Clock app’s new multi-timer feature is also developed by engineers in the country.

Apart from this, the enhanced Bedtime Alarm feature now allows users to customize alarm timings day-wise. On the home screen, there’s a new Direct Dial 4X1 widget for easy accessibility of priority contacts and dialing them with a single touch.

Health feature & performance improvement

Samsung’s R&D Institute Noida engineers have been focused on enhancing health features in the Galaxy S23’s One UI 5.1 software. The Galaxy S23 series introduces a new Sleep tracker widget on the home screen which enables users to track their sleeping patterns and sleep score very easily.

Moreover, the Water tracker feature lets users set their own day-wise water intake targets and sends reminders at custom scheduled timings. Indian engineers also contributed towards the improvements in the Samsung Health trackers like Water, Body composition, Cycle tracking, and Heart rate.

User Safety

In the user safety department, engineers at SRI-N have developed the Emergency SOS and Emergency Sharing feature. These new features allow users to send help messages with their own location information and video recording during an emergency by just pressing the power button 3 times.
