One UI 5.1 Home Screen Customization

In order to access customization tools, you will be needing to tap and hold on the home screen.

Wallpaper and style

This section allows you to change the home screen and lock screen wallpaper with categories including Featured, Gallery (custom), Graphical, Colors, Wallpaper services (Dynamic Lock screen, Samsung Global Goals), and Downloaded from the Galaxy Themes app.

The Color Palette is another useful feature, which allows you to optimize the entire user interface by picking up a dominant color from the home/lock screen. There’s a large directory of color combinations, and if you don’t wanna use the Color palette feature, it can be disabled as well.

Themed app icons and Dark mode optimization:

Similar to user interface elements, you can also turn the color of app icons into the already applied color palette for a more uniform appearance. Last but not least, there’s a pretty useful feature that allows you to dim the wallpaper’s brightness when the Dark mode is on.

Themes

One UI 5.1’s Themes tool lets you download additional personalization stuff from the Galaxy Themes app. In addition to system Themes, you can download Wallpapers, Icons, and AOD (Always On Display) themes from both paid and free categories.

Widgets

Samsung is making the Widgets section epic with each One UI iteration. Dynamic Widget became the spotlight of One UI 5, and Samsung further added more new options such as Battery Status Widget, Dynamic Weather Widget, Contacts Widget, and Spotify Suggestions widget.

One UI’s Widget section introduces both pre-installed and apps-derived widget options including additional choices. Using the widgets feature, you can get important tasks done on the home screen itself, with no need to access and open the app and settings.
