Verizon starts rolling out February 2023 security patch to Samsung Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus. Recently, T-Mobile released the same leveled Android patches to the company’s legendary smartphone lineup launched in 2019.

According to Verizon, the February 2023 update brings performance improvements and the most up-to-date Android security patch on your Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, or Galaxy S10 Plus device. Since no major OS support is left, the S10 series is approaching the end of support list.

Software Version:

  • Galaxy S10e – G970USQU8IWB5
  • Galaxy S10 – G973USQU8IWB5
  • Galaxy S10 Plus – G975USQU8IWB5

Changelog:

  • The current software update provides performance improvements and the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

How to download and install:

Your Samsung smartphone will notify you to download and install the new update when it gets available. Meanwhile, there’s an easy way to force installation manually by navigating to the device’s Settings, followed by Software update and Download and install.

Era of longer support begins?

Last year, Samsung announced that select Galaxy A series phones will get major One UI upgrades up to four generations. And the support further expanded for this year’s Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 smartphones along with the Galaxy flagships.

Well, the most interesting part is, the Korean tech giant is now offering four generations of Android + One UI updates to select Galaxy M series smartphones. Just recently, the company launched the Galaxy M54 5G, which brings flagship-like software support.

What about the S10 flagships?

Back in 2019, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 series with Android 9-based One UI 1.1 out of the box. The devices were eligible for just three years of Android OS upgrades and ended up their feature-rich firmware lifecycle with the Android 12-based One UI 4.1.
