Samsung integrates My Files app into Galaxy phone’s Settings

Samsung My Files is reportedly integrated into the Galaxy phone’s Settings. Since the change is spotted on a limited number of devices, the company might make it official with the April 2023 application update.

Two screenshots shared by Twitter user @choehau_alen show that the My Files app no longer remains a One UI app and Samsung integrated it into the Settings, between the Battery and device care and Apps tabs.

You can either keep the My Files app in your Galaxy phone’s App Drawer or remove it. The user has also shared a link to My Files app version 14.1.03.16, which may have included the integration change for Galaxy devices.

Through this change, Samsung wants to make the My Files function way too easily accessible compared to current situation. The app is currently available through app drawer, and it’s now getting a dedicated space in Settings.

Since the company is making the change live on some Galaxy devices, users are not in favor of this change. If you want to access My Files as an app, you can continue using it through the App Drawer and Home screen.

Additionally, the One UI has integrated the My Files into Settings, making it an OS function. As Android is also preventing users access the root directory of storage, Samsung is putting additional efforts in the same direction.
