First Samsung foldable tablet to launch alongside Galaxy Tab S9 this year
Beyond foldable phones that have been copied by several, Samsung has been working on different products with foldable display such as tablets and laptops. The company has already shown us what’s the progress of its foldable OLED development and it looks like, it’s going to be commercialized this year.
According to tipster @Tech_Reve, Samsung would launch the first foldable tablet – the Galaxy Z Tab along with the Galaxy Tab S9 series. Since the company’s next flagship tablet lineup coming this year, we might see the first foldable Galaxy tablet.
As Samsung Display showcased a number of types of foldable prototypes, it’s hard to guess what the Galaxy Z Tab (tablet) will look like if launch this year. It might bring a form factor for expanding to a laptop-like appearance, or it could be a larger variant of the current Galaxy Z Fold phones.
Aside from a laptop, the tablet is the best option if you prefer productivity at work or for study purposes. Making this experience epic, Samsung might make a tablet that can rest in your pocket and expand to a regular size when unfolded so you can keep it along anywhere, easily.
In August, the South Korean tech titan may release the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphones. It has been rumored that the Galaxy Tab S9 series will also go official at the same event, making August a month dedicated to premium Samsung devices.
Meanwhile, it’s also possible that the Galaxy Tab S9 may get a slightly delayed launch sometime in September so the company can show off its status of technology. September is a great timeframe as Apple usually picks the month to unveil new iPhone models.
As reported, Apple is also working on a foldable iPad model, which is expected to be commercialized by 2025. Ahead of getting a strong rival in the market, Samsung has apparently decided to bring the world’s first foldable display tablet to the market.
