News outlet CNBC has seen internally circulated documents, which reveal key information about the upcoming Google Pixel Fold. Before we proceed, it’s important to mention that the Google Pixel Fold could be a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 clone with incredible refinements.

According to the info, Google will launch the Pixel Fold, sometime in June. Ahead of the launch, the device would be showcased during the company’s annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023 on May 10. On the same day, users may be able to pre-order the phone through Google Store.

As Google mentioned in the documents seen by CNBC, Pixel Fold is codenamed “Felix” that is equipped with the “most durable hinge on a foldable” phone. We are saying it is a Fold4 clone as it could come with the same price at $1799 in the US.

The company could promote Pixel Fold as a water-resistant and pocket-sized phone. Its external display measures 5.8 inches, which expands to 7.6 inches when unfolded. Notably, the Fold4’s display size is 7.6-inch when unfolded, but there’s a difference in aspect ratio.

Google’s first foldable smartphone weighs 10oz, slightly heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Since it’s slightly heavier than the Fold4, it’s reportedly packed with a larger battery, which could last 24 hours or up to 72 hours in a low-power mode.

Recent leak revealed that the Google Pixel Fold will use the Tensor G2 chipset, but perform better than the Pixel 7 series as Samsung enhanced its 5nm fabrication process. To gain more sales, Pixel Fold pre-order consumers may get a free Pixel Watch along with stunning trade-in benefits.

Before launching the foldable phone, Google optimized its entire ecosystem for large screens with the collaboration of Samsung. As everything is not going well between Google and Samsung, both OEMs are putting efforts to keep their businesses up.
