Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 may release early

As competition is getting fierce in the foldable segment, Samsung is reportedly preparing an early release of the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. There’s no official information regarding the matter, while the tipster disclosed the important fact, hinting at an early debut.

According to the leak, the Korean tech giant could start mass production of Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 phones’ hinges in early June. Usually, the company begins production of these hardware parts by the end of June and commercialization happens in August.

As Samsung reportedly begins mass production of hinges in early June, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 may be released by July. The Galaxy Z Fold2 was released in September, Fold3 in late August, and Fold4 in early August, hence, Fold5’s late July debut makes sense.

This year, Samsung will be getting true competition in the foldable smartphone market. Google is all set to introduce its first foldable smartphone namely Pixel Fold, which brings a better display and bigger battery than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4 and upcoming Z Fold5.

Galaxy Fold5 Vs Pixel Fold – Rumored Specs

The internal display size of Galaxy Z Fold5 and Pixel Fold is expected to be the same – 7.6 inches. Google’s foldable phone is skipping the futuristic under-display camera, while Samsung will debut the third iteration of its under-panel camera tech.

Following Samsung’s footsteps, the Pixel Fold is expected to introduce water resistance – IPX8 rating. The Galaxy Z Fold3/Flip3 was the first to feature water resistance in the foldable phone market, which was later copied by Huawei and is now set to debut with Pixel Fold.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, while Tensor G2 manufactured by enhanced Samsung 5nm process will power the Google Pixel Fold. Display panel-wise, Samsung’s next-gen panel would be applied to the Pixel Fold, while Galaxy Z Fold5 is not getting an upgraded panel.
