Galaxy Z Flip 5 skips front camera upgrade, Samsung pushes rear camera for selfie?
Samsung’s unreleased products are spinning around rumors and reports. Samsung is reportedly bringing a huge cover display with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the latest report claims there’s no upgrade to the smartphone’s front camera.
Folks over at GalaxyClub report that Samsung won’t upgrade the front camera resolution of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It means the company’s next clamshell foldable could stick with the same selfie camera sensor applied to the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Released back in February this year, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus brought upgraded front camera over their predecessors. The Galaxy S23 Ultra also got a new sensor, which seems downgraded in terms of resolution but performs quite well in practice.
2023 Samsung Flip continues 10MP front camera
Following the S23 camera upgrade, Samsung fans expected the same treatment could be offered to the future flip-style smartphone, but it appears not to happen. Meanwhile, the company might promote the main rear camera for capturing selfies as the display is going to be enough larger this time.
The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 phone will continue to use a 10-megapixel front camera. Software-derived enhancements are expected to arrive, while there’s nothing new when it comes to the resolution of the sensor, but, it’s not entirely bad news.
The smartphone could be equipped with a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. The rear primary camera features Dual Pixel PDAF technology, which won’t let you worry about perfect selfies without sensor upgrade.
