Huawei designs its Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 killer
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is coming this August with a big upgrade in the cover display department. Oppo and Vivo managed to introduce their flip phones with huge cover display ahead of Samsung, meanwhile, the competition is getting fierce as Huawei joins the race, reveals a design patent.
Trusted Huawei blog HuaweiCentral discovered that the Chinese tech giant submitted a patent as part of securing the design for its future flip phone. The evidence revealed that Huawei’s flip would have a pretty large outer display, letting users get tasks done without unfolding the phone.
Let’s explore!
Rumors suggest, Samsung is bringing a large outer display to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Since Huawei is surviving in the smartphone industry due to the lack of Android and Google apps, it’s not stopping to secure design for future handsets, the flip with large cover screen is the latest example.
As you can see in the image below, future Huawei flip could come with a big outer screen, which is designed pretty awesome. The display is slightly rounded, matching the frame from two corners that reach the body, while the remaining two corners remain sharp.
At first sight, the smartphone looks a lot similar to the Oppo Find N2 Flip, which brings a big cover screen in a vertical form factor. Besides the big screen, there are two camera sensors that can be seen, which are placed inside a tiny bump, without any LED flash or kind of thing.
When unfolded, the main screen could deliver a full-view appearance, ditching the selfie camera hole or the selfie camera entirely. As the cover display is getting bigger, the company may remove the inner camera as users would be able to take stunning selfies from the main camera itself.
As far as the patent is concerned, Huawei may or may not apply the design on its future flip-style foldable phone. Earlier, it had launched the Huawei P50 Pocket, which comes with a circular display on the back, which is not so big to think about doing anything else than seeing time or notification icons.
