6 pictures show Samsung Device Care is nothing against Smart Manager

Samsung Device Care is one of the most useful One UI features on Galaxy devices. Samsung fans are aware of the feature’s ability and advantages, but what would be your response if I say it’s nothing against its Chinese sibling – Smart Manager?

Galaxy smartphones in China introduce the Samsung Smart Manager feature rather than the device care. On a rooted Galaxy device, a Reddit user managed to replace the official Device Care with China-exclusive Smart Manager and shared UI snaps.

Samsung Smart Manager

Starting the initial interface, Smart Manager elements are filled with pleasant colors, which are painted with gray in Device Care. There are a total of four tools namely Battery, Storage, Memory and Device protection, similar to Device Care.

However, the Smart Manager brings an additional section, which divides the entire service into two parts, just like the Good Lock. All four basic tools are placed in the Optimize section, and the second Utilities window has four more functions:

  1. Data usage
  2. Blocked calls / messages
  3. App management
  4. Software update

Due to the lack of the Battery section’s UI screenshot, we are starting with the Storage tab. As you can see in the screenshot below, Smart Manager looks like a different application rather than the Chinese variant of Device Care.

The storage usage bar matches Device Care, but the categories are placed in way too less space for enhanced visibility. Trash is called Junk Files here, followed by a dedicated section of Recommended cleanup, including:

  1. Installation files
  2. Unused apps
  3. App data
  4. Gallery recycle bin

The data usage window allows you to monitor how much data you’ve consumed by Mobile carrier and Wi-Fi connection. In Global variants, Data usage option can be accessed from Settings >> Connections >> Data usage.

The App management tab also features two different windows in which the first is entitled Management, while the second is Useful settings. The first part is similar to Global ROM, while there are a handful of useful tools in the second sections, such as:

  1. Unused apps
  2. Battery saving
    • Auto run apps
  3. Phone safety
    • App lock
  4. System performance
    • Incompatible apps check

Like the OP, you can also install the Chinese version of Device Care app, if you have rooted your Galaxy. The user shared steps to switch the app along with the link to APK file of Smart Manager, however, we don’t recommend you play with core Samsung features.
