Google is about to showcase its first foldable smartphone next month, at the same time, we are getting more and more rumors about Samsung’s next-gen foldables. In a recent development, a reliable tipster rendered the possible cover display and front design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Tipster IceUniverse slammed Samsung for designing “abnormal screen” by sharing cover display renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. As rumored so far, the Fold 5 has no design or form factor changes, while the Flip 5 is getting a large cover screen but with a folder icon-like design.

Talking about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 cover screen image shared by tipster, the phone looks quite similar to its predecessor. However, the middle part doesn’t seem to measure perfectly as Samsung’s bringing a new droplet hinge, making it thinner and lighter than previous Fold(s).
From the left side, the body has sharp corners on both the top and bottom sides, courtesy of the hinge application. The right side as slightly rounded corners, as part of delivering a great in-hand feel when unfolded. The display continues Infinity-O cutout, where you will get the primary selfie camera.

Yesterday, another tipster @evleaks posted an official-looking image of the alleged Google Pixel Fold. As shown in the image, Pixel Fold borrows the Oppo Find N2’s form factor, delivering a tablet-like experience when unfolded and more width on the cover screen.

This year, Samsung will be getting tough competition in the foldable smartphone market, which it has dominated with an 80 percent slice. Foldables from Oppo and vivo are limited to China, but Google might be becoming a tough challenge for Samsung in the United States.
