Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S20 series gets April 2023 update

Samsung is rolling out a new update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S20 series, which installs the April 2023 security patch to improve system security and stability. The update is currently available on the Verizon Mobile network in the US.

April 2023 update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones already available in the Middle East, Europe, Brazil, Bolivia, the US, and more countries.

You can check the version of the April 2023 update for the locked Samsung Galaxy S20 5G series:

  • Galaxy S20 – G981USQU4HWD3
  • Galaxy S20 Plus – G986USQU4HWD3
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra –  G988USQU4HWD3

April 2023 security patch brings fixes for over 60 security flaws, including 5 critical, 46 high, and one moderate level of CVEs. The latest firmware also enhances system security and stability to make your Galaxy S20 device more secure.

You can manually check the latest Galaxy S20 update through Settings >> tap on Software update >> tap on Download and install.

Aside from April 2023 security patch, the Korean tech giant has started releasing May 2023 security update and it is already released for Galaxy S23, Galaxy A10e, and Galaxy A23 smartphones. The company will soon expand this update and make it available for all eligible Galaxy devices.
