Samsung is expected to announce its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones in late July this year. The next-generation foldable phones will come with a new Android 13-based software iteration – One UI 5.1.1, which is now tipped to bring new Always On Display features, widgets, and more.

According to tipster Anthony, the One UI 5.1.1 will have many new features, some related to Samsung Health, others to DeX, Always On Display, and Widgets. The company mainly develops the x.1.1 iteration of One UI for large screen and foldable devices, however, optimizations may be rolled out to flagships too.

One UI 5.1.1 will surely bring new Health-related features as Samsung has already confirmed that irregular heart rate and skin temperature sensor-derived functions are coming to the next-gen smartwatches. To make them work properly, the phone’s software part will play a key role.

With the next-gen foldables and tablet lineup, the South Korean tech giant will surely enhance the multitasking experience. The tipster suggests that the One UI 5.1.1 will also focus on improving the DeX platform, with the addition of new and improvements for the existing ones.

Last but not least, the input mentions new Widgets that may be related to Health application. With the One UI 5.1, Samsung brought new Battery Status, Contacts and Dynamic Weather widgets. Hopefully, the Battery Widget may get further refinements to look better than the stock Android and iOS variant.

Always On Display, which is a heavily used Samsung feature remained untouched in the past few One UI iterations. So there are high chances of new customization options in the AOD feature with the next stable One UI version based on Android 13.
