Samsung Wallet gets Digital Key feature for select BMW cars in Brazil

On May 17, Samsung officially launched the Digital Car Key feature for BMW vehicles in Brazil. Thanks to the partnership with BMW, Samsung Wallet will now allow consumers to store the key to their BMW cars digitally, ending the need of keeping physical keys.

Digital Car Key is now available in Brazil for Samsung Wallet application’s compatible Galaxy devices running the latest Android 13-based One UI 5 and select BMW models via NFC and UWB, depending on the Samsung Galaxy device and model Of car.

Availability

The Digital Vehicle Key is available now in Brazil, for Galaxy phones with Android 13 or higher from the Galaxy S20 (excluding S20 FE), Note 20, S21 (including S21 FE) lineups, S22 5G, S23 5G, Z Flip 5G, Z Flip3 5G, Z Flip4 5G, Z Fold2, Z Fold3 5G and Z Fold4 5G.

This service is available for models 320i, 330e, 420i, 530e, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, M3, X6M, i4, iX3 and iX with year of manufacture, BMW vehicle software and hardware compatible with the resource. Check with the manufacturer for compatible models.

Samsung Wallet

The Digital Vehicle Key is part of Samsung Wallet, Samsung’s digital wallet. Samsung Wallet is designed for people to store and manage their credit, debit, and loyalty cards, digital keys, and other important information in a single secure, private, and easy-to-use environment.

Make sure to update the Digital Key and Samsung Wallet app to the latest versions. Transferring information or duplicating devices is not possible as Samsung’s security policy allows a digital key to be used on only one smartphone.
