Samsung has reportedly brought 2x portrait mode to the Galaxy S23 Ultra with internal software. A few days back, the community moderator revealed that the company will provide a double portrait camera feature to the Galaxy S23 Ultra with the next firmware update.

In addition, tipster IceUniverse also claims that June 2023 is going to be a big month for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra as Samsung will be bringing a major camera update, which also includes 2x portrait mode. Notably, the 2x Portrait works on the 50-megapixel camera resolution of the S23 Ultra.

According to the input, this internal test build – WE9 weighs about 1.5GB and seems massively promising. It looks like it will fix the HDR vignetting and bananagate-like problems occurring on the Galaxy S23 series smartphones since the initial debut.

At present, the S23 Ultra just has two options to capture Portrait shots including 1x and 3x. With the addition of a 2x cropping solution, Portrait shots should be captured with better details and depth effects. The alleged screenshot shows that the new 2x won’t affect the 3x mode available already.

Apart from 2x Portrait, the next big Galaxy S23 firmware is rumored to come with major improvements and optimization. The company is continuously enhancing the photography capabilities of its new flagships, while older flagships are also getting benefited alongside.
