Here’s how to restore contacts on your Samsung device

Are you noticing that contacts are getting deleted from your Samsung smartphone? If so, it could be because you’re using the same Google Account on multiple devices, or you’ve enabled the Automatically back up and sync device contacts setting in the Google app. But no need to worry as here you can check the steps to restore Galaxy contacts on your Samsung devices.

If you’re using the same Google Account on multiple devices, deleting contacts from one device will delete contacts from a second device as well. Also, if you enable the setting in the Google app to automatically back up and sync your device contacts, then your device will automatically be moved to your Google Account contacts.

How to restore Contacts on your Samsung smartphone?

Condition 1: If your Galaxy Contacts are deleted because of your Google Account, they are stored on Google servers for 30 days. There are 2 methods of restoring deleted contact:

  • Restoring with Undo Changes
  • Restore Contacts from Trash

Let’s see how to restore contacts from both procedures.

1.) Restore with Undo Changes 

Through some easy steps you can restore deleted contacts, just need to follow them. Firstly, open the Google app >> now select Apps located at top right corner >> click on Settings >> press on Undo changes >> choose when to undo changes >> click on Undo.

2.) Restore Contacts from Trash 

For that, open the Contacts app >> Tap on the Menu option >> click on Trash  >>Select one contact to restore >> Select Restore All option >> Click on the Recover option.

Condition 2: If you enable the setting Automatically back up and sync device contacts in the Google app, contacts in your device’s contact storage will be automatically moved to your Google Account contacts.

1.) Change the Contact Display Range

Open the Samsung Contacts app >> Click on the Menu option >> Tap on the Phone >> Select All contacts/ Google Account.

2.) Disable the backup and syn settings of the Google app

For disabling, visit Settings >> Scroll down and tap on Google >> Tap on Set up and restore >> Click on Restore Contacts >> Google Contacts sync settings >> Device contacts Sync >> Disable Automatically Backup & Sync Device Contacts.
