Samsung Weather is an awesome app, servicing Galaxy users to get the latest updates about local weather. Meanwhile, Google has also started working on the development of a native Weather app for Android, following its debut on Wear OS.

According to 9to5Google’s findings, Google Weather is shaping as a standalone application behind the doors for Android phones and tablets. At present, the same service is available through the Google Search app, but some disabilities make it inconvenient when researching.

Google Weather app will be more polished until the official release, thanks to the recent Material You redesign update. Moreover, it will also help the company roll out new features, improvements and bug fixes to a native Weather application instead of the full Google App.

In the latest version of Google Clock, 9to5Google found “com.google.android.apps.weather” in order to display “Local weather on clock.” It also suggests that the Clock app’s UI will include current temperature, high/low, and condition for cities you’ve placed.

Besides, Google brought many assets in the Clock app v7.5 to support this, including Blizzard, Clear day, Cloudy, Drizzle, Flurries, Low visibility, Heavy rain, Nighttime isolated scattered thunderstorms, Rain with sleet or hail, Tropical storm or hurricane, and Very hot.
