One UI 5 Watch Beta will bring Wear OS 4 to Samsung smartwatches in June 2023
Samsung moderator officially confirmed that the One UI 5 Watch is based on Wear OS 4 smartwatch operating system. The company has also halted the One UI 5 Watch Beta due to a delay in Wear OS 4 by Google, and the program is likely rescheduled for June 2023.
According to the information, Samsung One UI Beta Manager revealed that the One UI 5 Watch Beta was scheduled to go live in May 2023. As the OS is based on Google’s Wear OS 4, which is late in internal testing, has become an unavoidable reason for the break.
In addition, the moderator disclosed that the preparation is underway and the developers are doing their best so users receive more stable software. As soon as the One UI 5 Watch Beta reaches a satisfactory level of stability, the Beta program will begin, which we believe to happen in June 2023.
“We sold out to proceed with the Watch Beta in May, but the coordination to reflect Google’s wear OS 4.0 took longer than expected, so the start schedule was unavoidable. We apologize to customers who have been waiting for the beta to open in May.”
Samsung earlier revealed that One UI 5 Watch software will bring an irregular heart rate notification feature to Galaxy smartwatches. Moreover, the Wear OS 4 brings Material You colors so your watch’s appearance delivers an optimized feel like your Galaxy smartphone.
