Samsung One UI 5 Watch lets you create folders to keep apps organized

Samsung rolled out One UI 5 Watch Beta update to Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 users. Stable update will be available for all as the Beta activity is limited to the US and South Korea. Among others, the ability to let users organize apps in folders is an appealing feature of One UI 5 Watch.

Smartphones have a large display, making it easier to organize apps and access them without too many scrolls. However, just the opposite experience served on smartwatches due to small screens. Meanwhile, One UI 5 Watch is here to help, thanks to the new apps folders feature.

Similar to your Galaxy smartphone, you will be able to create apps folders on your Galaxy Watch running One UI 5 Watch software. This will help you keep all the apps organized, making it easier to find the apps you need quickly with less scrolling.

As you can see in the images below, the folders offer two toggles, one for adding new apps to the folder, and the second allows customization. Using the color toggle of folders, you can adjust the background color so your watch will deliver an optimized appearance on the home screen.

Samsung will launch the One UI 5 Watch stable software at the next month’s Unpacked in South Korea. The Galaxy Watch 6 series will come pre-installed with this new operating system, based on Google’s Wear OS 4 powered by Android 13.

  • The company could make this software available for all by September 2023.
