Samsung is just refining its flagship devices instead of bringing major design changes, as part of avoiding risky experiments. Except for slight form factor changes, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 looks like a replica of its predecessor, and the same Samsung is continuing with the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Due to negligible innovation, Samsung employees are apparently unhappy with Galaxy Z Fold 5, saying “it can’t even be called the Galaxy Z Fold4s.” Tipster UniverseIce revealed that some employees have expressed their disappointment with the design.

As we’ve seen in design renders, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 looks like a clone of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. On the rear panel, the camera rings got slightly larger as well as the LED flash is replaced after the top sensor from the “below the bottom ring” on Fold 4.

Inside the device, there will be a new power-efficient processor, which will offer better performance alongside. Besides, the conventional crease is reportedly getting replaced with new waterdrop (droplet) hinge technology, which Chinese phones already brought to the market.

A recent rumor claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a new waterdrop hinge, but it’s failed to address the crease visibility. Meanwhile, it’s apparently going to kill the foldable’s free-stop mechanism, which gives Samsung a lead over its competitors.
