Android 14 Beta 3.1 is a minor update, which follows the Beta 3 rollout that started on June 7. Google published the release notes stating that fix for Fingerprint Unlock (unavailable/unusable) and platform compatibility issues.

Here is the changelog:

  • Fixed issues where Fingerprint Unlock was either unavailable or unusable on some devices.
  • Fixed platform compatibility issues that were affecting mapping SDKs, which caused dependent apps to crash in some cases.

Eligible Devices for Beta 3.1

  • Pixel 4a (5G)
  • Pixel 5 and 5a
  • Pixel 6 and 6 Pro
  • Pixel 6a
  • Pixel 7 and 7 Pro
  • Pixel 7a

Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta program are receiving the Android 14’s Beta 3.1 update over the air. It’s a big development as Google announced that Beta 3 takes the new OS to the Platform Stability milestone. It brings us another step close to the Public Android 14 distribution.

Since Android 14 is still in active development, so the Android system and apps running on it might not always work as expected. Some apps might not function as expected when running on this release. This limitation includes Google’s apps as well as other apps.
