Samsung Pay rival Apple Pay is coming to India as well

Apple will soon be joining the Indian online payments market with its own payment platform. Recently, the company launched Apple Pay in South Korea, and recently, it has engaged with many authorities and officials to launch Apple Pay in India.

During his recent visit to India, Apple Chief Tim Cook met with bankers. At the same time, the company is working on a localized version of Apple Pay that works atop UPI. With its own app, Apple wants iPhone users won’t have to download any third-party service for online payments.

During its recent conversations with some Indian authorities, Apple suggested that Apple Pay could have the ability to use Face ID for UPI authentication on iPhones. Besides, people familiar with the matter say that Apple Pay’s launch in India is likely still a few quarters away.
