Fossil starts rolling out a new firmware update to the Gen 6 smartwatches, bringing back the Google Assistant. Until now, Google Assistant support was only available on Google’s Pixel Watch and Samsung smartwatch lineup running the Wear OS operating system.

The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches lost access to the Google Assistant feature following the Wear OS 3 upgrade. Well, the company has now officially confirmed that the voice assistant is now available for consumers. You just need to update the wearable’s companion app from Google Play Store.

According to Fossil, Google Assistant’s only available on Gen 6 smartwatches paired with an Android smartphone. If you use an iPhone or Android Go device, Assistant won’t appear on the watch. Besides, Skagen Gen 6 models are also getting an update that adds support for Google Assistant.
