WhatsApp is rolling out a new Beta update for the Android app, which carries version number 2.23.13.17. This new WhatsApp Beta update comes with a subtle change for the Android app’s top bar (commonly known as Header) for Dark mode settings.

The screenshot attached below clearly shows the difference between the WhatsApp Android app’s current top bar (header) and the upcoming one. Compared to the current, the new build’s top app bar is really darker in the Dark mode settings.
It’s a significant development, showing WhatsApp’s efforts to further refine the app’s user interface in Dark Mode. Since the top bar is under development, there’s a possibility of additional enhancements to the theme, taking inspiration from the iOS variant.

Moreover, WhatsApp also adds extra security by using cryptographic hashes to protect the phone numbers of contacts who aren’t on the app. This ensures that user data remains safe while still allowing WhatsApp to monitor for any unusual activity related to contact uploads.
Users can still chat with their existing contacts as the app remains fully functional, even with contact syncing turned off. If someone switches to a new phone or reinstalls WhatsApp, their linked contacts will automatically be restored easily.

To use these features, simply tap the effects icon in the top right corner during a video call, allowing for quick changes to backgrounds and filters.
