Android 14 to fuel the Taskbar feature with personalization capabilities

Android 12L brought a taskbar to make using the large screen more amazing as it lets you easily switch between apps and see all your apps in one drawer. But in Android 13, Google turned the taskbar into a bubble that hides when you’re not using it. Some people may like the new taskbar, but others may prefer the old taskbar that was always visible and easy to reach.

Google may let you choose your taskbar style in Android 14. According to the information via Mishaal Rehman, a new hidden option has been found in Android 14 beta 3 that lets you switch between the old and new taskbars.

All you have to do is long press on the empty spot on the taskbar, then a pop-up will appear with two options – Always show taskbar and Change navigation mode. The first option lets you choose between the old “persistent” taskbar and the new “transient” taskbar, while the second option opens the navigation settings.

The option for taskbar is not available yet as this launcher flag is not enabled by default, but it may be in the final version of Android 14 for large-screen devices like Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold.
