Samsung One UI 6 may notify about Android upgrade in a better way
As Google preps a new Android Upgrade Invite feature, Samsung One UI 6 may notify you about an upgrade in a better way. At present, the update changelog shows the content in text format, which could be turned into a handful of graphical elements in the future.
This is effectively a series of screens showcasing a pending update’s features, complete with a prompt to perform the update. Per the info (via MishaalRahman), Android Upgrade Invite will be available to Android OEMs and requires support for Google Mobile Services.
“Once a device has an OS upgrade pending user approval, users receive a push notification displaying the new features and inviting them to perform the upgrade,” reads an excerpt of the explanation on the Android website.
It’s worth mentioning that Google’s new feature could notify about pending Android updates only. Premium Android phones get new security patches every month, which could have the same text-based changelog notification. Most probably, Samsung’s One UI would incorporate it in the future.
Not everybody jumps to install the latest OS update when it's available. To help OEMs convince those users to update their devices, Google is inviting OEMs to implement an Android Upgrade Invite. pic.twitter.com/ALx7pzQbi8
