AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su is likely to visit TSMC CEO Dr. C.C. Wei during her Taiwan visit. Reports say that AMD CEO’s visit to TSMC could involve its 3nm chip manufacturing technologies, indicating a failure for Samsung, which surpassed TSMC with higher 3nm yields.

Per Digitimes report, AMD is unlikely to transfer 3nm chip orders to Samsung, given that it has been working with TSMC on the technology for at least two years and that its relationship with TSMC extends to 2nm process fabrication, industry sources believe.

Recently, it was analyzed that Samsung Foundry surpassed TSMC in 3nm yields, but consumers are not getting attracted. Meanwhile, the Korean tech giant would get benefit through the US-made chipsets as TSMC is forced to rose prices due to local manufacturing costs.
